Atinna – derives from the Ancient Greek name Athena. Athena was among other things the goddess of war, wisdom, art and handcraft.
With over 25 years of corporate experience, Atinna Smith is an articulate and multi-talented leader who can effectively collaborate with executive-level stakeholders to inspire and develop diverse and inclusive workplaces, and execute strategies throughout every aspect of an organization. Atinna is data-driven, proactively engages in current events impacting the communities she serves, and remains relentlessly focused on her own self-awareness and continuous education.
Currently functioning as a Principal Program Manager and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) Business Partner at Amazon, Atinna has innovatively designed and initiated results-oriented DEI-focused processes, plans, programs, workshops, recruiting events, and discussions for senior leaders, people managers and employees.
Her authentic perspective and lived experiences encourage learning, reflection, awareness and understanding as well as bridging knowledge gaps to ultimately inspire organizational growth, progress and equitable outcomes for diverse talent and communities.
A former entrepreneur, marketing consultant and creative agency owner, Atinna’s unique background also includes management-level roles in Marketing, Advertising, Retail, Operations, and Entertainment. Past employers and clients include: YP.com, NCR Corporation, Sam Flax Art & Design, Microsoft, Coca Cola, Let’s Talk, LLC, Atlanta Magazine, Atlanta Jazz Festival, The Stuart Gallery, and actor, Kamil McFadden, to name a few.
Atinna is a fierce advocate and ally, obsessed with building communities and mentoring future leaders. Sharing her God-given gifts of time, talents and treasures, her servant-leadership style and approachability has led to numerous opportunities to host, speak, and moderate panel discussions and industry events across the United States.
An actively engaged volunteer, Atinna supports numerous causes, communities and youth-focused organizations, including Year Up and Usher’s New Look, and currently serves as a Board Member and Director of Recruitment for Amazon’s Black Employee Network (BEN) Affinity Group in Seattle, and as Marketing Chair for a woman-owned nonprofit organization (Women of Distinction, Inc.) based in Atlanta.
